Chamber Honors Local Businesses, Community Organizations at Business of the Year Awards
Four local companies were among those honored at the 21st Annual Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at Oncenter Thursday evening, March 11.
John Zogby, president and CEO of Zogby International and author of The New York Times best-seller, “The Way We'll Be: The Zogby Report on the Transformation of the American Dream” spoke to the nearly 600 attendees and identified key trends in American culture and suggested how companies from the Fortune 500 to the neighborhood deli can use this information to improve their business.
The Business of the Year awards were presented to Central New York companies and organizations that have excelled in the following areas: growth, staying power, workplace innovation, and commitment to community.
The Business of the Year award for a company/organization with more than 50 employees went to King & King Architects, LLC.
The Business of the Year award for a company/organization with under 50 employees went to C. R. Fletcher Associates, Inc.
A third award for Community Involvement went to EMPOWER Federal Credit Union. And the Non-Profit Business of the Year award was presented to the Everson Museum of Art of Syracuse & Onondaga County.
Chamber President Darlene Kerr presented two local companies with the prestigious President’s Award. This award is presented annually at the discretion of the Chamber president to a member, organization or individual who has gone above and beyond and made an extraordinary contribution to our community. The 2010 awards were presented to Testone, Marshall & Discenza, CPAs and Green & Seifter Attorneys, PLLC who accepted the awards in thanks for their outstanding work on the due-diligence for the Chamber/MDA partnership.
