Manager of Performance – Economic Inclusion

CenterState CEO is looking for a highly competent and motivated professional to play a critical role in the operations of its rapidly evolving/growing Economic Inclusion team. The Manager of Performance will help manage growth within Economic Inclusion by maintaining the operational structures and processes that are necessary to maintain quality performance in a rapidly changing environment. S/he will work with a high-energy team of colleagues, ensuring that they are effective and feel supported in their work. S/he is skilled in identifying challenges and related opportunities for progress. S/he is truly a self-starter and takes the initiative to craft and execute solutions to both straight-forward and more complex issues, checking in to (re)align with colleagues as necessary.

 

Summary of the Position

The Manager of Performance will play a critical role in helping the Economic Inclusion team in implementing, sustaining, and expanding programs. The work will require the management and refinement of existing systems and processes and, where needed, creation of new ones to maintain consistent oversight and execution of programmatic and administrative tasks. The Manager of Performance will specifically support processes related to grant management, task force administration, and team coordination.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Team Coordination and Process Management

  • Work with VP of Economic Inclusion, directors and staff to plan and help facilitate regular Economic Inclusion team meetings;
  • Maintain key takeaways and informational items;
  • Support group projects and collaboration through project and task management;
  • Support EI team in executing tasks in a timely fashion by anticipating, identifying, and addressing roadblocks
  • When cross-team projects are identified, help us stay on track in moving those forward
  • Work with VP of EI and colleagues to facilitate shared learning and professional development
  • Assist VP of Economic Inclusion and other registered lobbyists on EI Team manage compliance and reporting with NYS lobbying requirements (JCOPE)

 

Committee and Task Force Administration:

  • For key committees and task forces* perform the following:
    • Work with administrative assistants to coordinate meeting logistics
    • Help VP of Economic Inclusion and/or Directors to prepare relevant materials (ensure that administrative assistants print and produce materials as needed)
    • Take notes in meetings at the level of detail required (e.g. high level takeaways/follow ups vs. minutes) + sharing notes/takeaways/minutes as required
    • Tracking takeaways/follow up when appropriate

 

Program Management/Support

  • Launch and manage “Master Grant and Contract Calendar” – partnering with Economic Inclusion program leads, Finance, and Grants Office - tracking and ensuring timely execution for deliverables, reporting, financials
  • Coordinating the administration of all Economic Inclusion grants and contracts (e.g., teeing up reports and invoices per grant/contract requirements; monitoring deliverable execution) in collaboration with colleagues in Finance and Grants Office.
  • Tracking matching commitments across grants
  • Managing Request for Proposal processes and resultant vendor contracts.
  • Feed related financial information into budgeting and financial management processes
  • Assist Economic Inclusion staff with developing RFPs, contracts, and scopes of work
  • Collaborate with, and support, colleagues in grant writing and submission preparation – including budgets

  • Experience working with socioeconomically diverse communities
  • A “team-oriented” approach, in which s/he is motivated by the success of the organization and the accomplishments of her or his colleagues
  • Ability to perform to a high standard while working independently on- or off-site and to communicate effectively and efficiently back to the team; and,
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and different work and cultural styles with agility.

  • Position start date is ASAP.
  • The position is full-time with benefits.
  • The Manager of Performance will report directly to the Vice President of Economic Inclusion and will work closely with the broader Economic Inclusion division.
