Air Service Development

CenterState CEO recognizes the importance of connecting the region with the rest of the nation and the world in an interconnected, global economy. Convenient, affordable air service at Syracuse Hancock International Airport is a high-priority for CEO members.

CenterState CEO launched its Air Service Development efforts and the Fly Syracuse campaign in 2003. In partnership with the City of Syracuse, CenterState CEO works directly with airlines to attract new flights, reduce fares, and promote the use of Syracuse Hancock International Airport. Through Fly Syracuse campaigns, new flights and airport improvements are promoted to create public awareness and increase passenger traffic.

Thanks to these efforts, passengers at Hancock Airport have benefitted from reduced fares, additional service and new routes, and improved passenger amenities at the airport.

Recent airport improvements include the introduction of new computer workstations, new terminal television and flight status monitors, free wi-fi access throughout the terminal, and parking enhancements including EZ pass payment options.

Additional enhancements are scheduled for Hancock Airport, including a $63 million security and expansion project. This project will create a larger, single access point to the north and south terminal piers; feature new passenger amenities and additional space for concessions; and include energy-efficient features that qualify for LEED-silver certification – making it one of the greenest airports in the nation.

Hancock Airport is served by all major US carriers, Air Canada, and popular low cost carrier, JetBlue Airways. Syracuse travelers can choose from more than 120 flights daily, with non-stop service to 15 destinations.
