Hospice of Central New York and Hospice of the Finger Lakes, along with other national, state and community organizations, continues its efforts to promote the importance of advance healthcare decision-making. Each year a national effort culminating in the formal designation of April 16th as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD) takes place. It was Benjamin Franklin, in a letter to Jean-Baptiste Leroy in 1789, that said, “nothing is certain but death and taxes”. To honor that, the founders of NHDD thought it appropriate to remind people about end-of-life planning the day after tax day in the United States.

As a participating organization, Hospice provides information and tools for people to talk about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers. Here are the resources you can download that will help you get started on having your Advance Directives in place:
