Onondaga Community College’s Weekend College now includes a total of four majors! The highly popular accelerated program will give students the opportunity to earn a two-year associate degree while taking classes on weekends. Weekend College classes will be held Friday nights (5:30-9:30 p.m.) and Saturday’s (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) on the OCC campus. Financial aid and scholarships are available for those who qualify. Classes begin Friday, August 24.

The four degree programs being offered through OCC’s Weekend College are:

  • Business Administration, A.S.                             12-month program
  • Criminal Justice, A.S.                                        14-and-a-half month program
  • Early Childhood Education, A.A.S.                       14-and-a-half month program
  • Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counseling, A.A.S.       14-and-a-half month program

“Weekend College is very popular because it’s ideally suited for students who are balancing work, family and personal responsibilities. This allows them to be on-campus two days per week and to complete an associate degree through an accelerated year-round calendar. We are excited to be able to offer students this flexibility through these four degrees,” said OCC President Dr. Casey Crabill.

In addition, OCC’s partnership with SUNY Oswego will ensure students majoring in Business Administration or Criminal Justice a seamless transfer into a bachelor’s degree program which is offered through a combination of online and in-person classes at SUNY Oswego’s downtown Syracuse campus at Clinton Square. With this partnership, students can complete their associate and bachelor’s degrees at a SUNY price right here in Syracuse.
