NUAIR is seeking a candidate who will serve as the Chief of Strategy and Development. This is a terrific opportunity for a seasoned business professional with strong technical, project management, business capture skills and the ability to develop, plan, and execute actions to accelerate adoption of UAS technologies in the public sector, grow a customer base to increase revenue in the private sector, bring economic development to the region, and promote the development of a relatively immature market and new business.

The Role
The Chief of Strategy and Development is responsible for the plan, process, and actions for expansion of services offered by NUAIR. In this role you will work with the current executive team to further the existing strategy and establish actions, systems and processes that support the growth of the organization and improve efficiency. You must be able to conceptualize and formulate strategic initiatives that further the mission of the organization and make sure that the day-to-day activities to support those initiatives for both the short and long term goals of the organization and ensure the company’s output falls in line with those goals.
You will work to identify potential users and markets by investigating and analyzing trends in the UAS industry and take a targeted approach for growth and revenue generation. You will manage the internal capture process and focus efforts on maximizing the probability of winning future business.
The Chief of Strategy and Development should have a broad technical, operational, and regulatory background with experience in an aviation organization, UAS preferred. The Chief of Strategy and Development must also understand project management, contracts, capture operations and proposal development. You should have a strong business acumen with depth and breadth to support the CEO on day to day activities.

• Leads and supports development, application and implementation of new programs, policies and procedures.
• Develops new business opportunities by leveraging contacts, pursuing new product development, and improving project efficiency.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and regulations.

• Strong consulting skills: demonstrated ability to work with executive and senior management to analyze problems, recommend appropriate communication solutions and facilitate more informed decisions
• Ability to monitor best practices and deliver new, imaginative solutions
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and respond to changing schedules and priorities while successfully managing multiple projects
• Must be able to multitask with research projects, data analysis, coordination with the executive team, and acting as the public face of the company in the absence of the company’s CEO.
• Must be willing to challenge the standard thinking with new ideas, new approaches, and new solutions.
• Must have strong decision-making skills and the determination to see projects through to the end.

Desired Background/Skills
• 15 or more years of relevant experience required with at least 5 years in the UAS Industry
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Aerospace, Aviation or related field
• MBA preferred but not required
• Technical background in aviation, communications, or surveillance
• Business strategy development
• Business capture experience and solicitation of RFP’s
