The Tech Garden Marketing and Events Coordinator is responsible for the marketing, social outreach and events related to CenterState CEO’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship portfolio and The Tech Garden (TTG) business incubator, including the GENIUS NY program, and the NYSERDA funded Clean Tech Center.

The position will work in collaboration with the CenterState CEO Communications team, through means of digital and traditional marketing to increase brand recognition, drive new Tech Garden members, improve retention, and grow followers. The position will work in collaboration with the CenterState CEO Communications team to approve collateral content for internal and external audiences, relaying a consistent message of CenterState CEO’s image/brand.

The Tech Garden is CenterState CEO’s business incubator. Its mission is to stimulate high-tech entrepreneurship, foster the development of emerging growth companies, and support technology commercialization throughout the region.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work collaboratively with fellow staff, consultants, investors, and the business community to tailor events to TTG and NYSERDA members’ needs.
  • Create events that support TTG programs and resources that deliver value to community members, innovators, investors, entrepreneurs, and the local business community.
  • Obtain supplies and equipment, set up, organize, and tear down event venues. 
  • Connect and keep informed of events happening within the local innovation ecosystem and collaborate with other ecosystem partners for synergistic events.
  • Collaborate with CenterState CEO’s Communications department on marketing efforts (print, digital, and social media) to promote TTG events.


  • Design marketing materials, develop communication campaigns and plan advertising and promotional activities related to Tech Garden programming.
  • Manage and maintain all digital platforms for TTG and its programs.
  • Develop content and engagement strategies to inform, educate, and inspire entrepreneurs and reach those who don’t know about TTG (TTG newsletters, blogs, member stories).
  • Report and send weekly TTG program updates, news, and content to CenterState CEO’s Communications team for appropriate CenterState CEO communications.
  • Report and track metrics of TTG’s marketing and communication efforts through Salesforce and Google Analytics.
  • Provide CenterState CEO’s Communications team cohort and program content for social media, website, press releases and other communications.
  • Work with Tech Garden team members to increase programming, events and marketing efforts that complement the brands.
  • Seek feedback (surveys, exit interviews, and social media) on client satisfaction of events to affect continuous improvement.

Secondary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with fellow staff and consultants; be an active participant within the business community to augment program management.
  • Ensure all meetings, assessments and events are regularly communicated to stakeholders and applicable cohorts.
  • Support Entrepreneurship programming through The Clean Tech Center incubator program to ensure value amongst entrepreneurs and the community.
  • Establish, maintain and leverage ecosystem partners to engage resources for cohorts’ business needs.
  • Ensure all meetings, assessments, events are regularly communicated to stakeholders and cohort through calendar, email and recorded in Salesforce.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree plus three or more years’ experience in marketing or related field, with experience designing and maintaining websites. Excellent organizational abilities. Additional years of experience at a ratio of 2:1 may be considered in lieu of an bachelor’s degree.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Positive attitude
  • Action oriented and thorough with follow-up procedures
  • Technical proficiency, including Microsoft Office (word processing, Excel/spreadsheets); Adobe, Canva, Sketch or other graphic design software; and proficiency generating reports using standard software applications. Familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
  • Valid driver license
  • Ability to master video conference technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, both on the telephone and in person.
  • Ability to work independently, determine priorities, make appropriate decisions, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Work well in a diverse environment.
  • Be an enthusiastic self-starter with well-developed administrative, organizational and self-management skills.
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions in English.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Close mental and visual attention required to perform work, verbal communication, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.
  • General office equipment is used.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and push and/or pull up to 20-pound loads at a time relative to event-based equipment.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

There is no exposure to known adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed in a typical office work environment.
