2019 in Review: The Oneida Indian Nation’s Commitment to CNY Sets New Economic Records

Go Back

The Oneida Indian Nation continued to break records over the course of the past 12 months. In the 2019 fiscal year, it has created a wealth of new jobs for the region and its casinos have paid $70 million in settlement payments to the State of New York.

This amount not only surpasses what all other upstate New York gaming facilities have paid. It exceeds the $50 million that was projected when the Oneida Indian Nation signed the historic 2013 settlement agreement with New York State and surrounding counties.

The successes of 2019 are a testament to the vendors, businesses and employees working with the Oneida Indian Nation to create a shared vision. And they speak to the Nation's unique and defining strength: While its enterprises consistently rank as the finest in the US, everything that is created here— from careers to revenue— is for the sole benefit of the people, economy and future of Central New York.
