Loretto Expands Telehealth during COVID-19

Syracuse, NY (April 7, 2020) – To help older adults stay connected to medical professionals during the global health crisis, Loretto expanded its telehealth program to all residents and participants.

Loretto partnered with MonitorMe™, an all-in-one health monitoring program that connects patients with doctors and medical staff 24/7. MonitorMe™ tracks a wide range of health signs such as temperature, vital signs, blood pressure, blood sugar level, pulse, heart rate and more. The real-time data is monitored 24/7 by a team of off-site medical team. This is Loretto’s third telehealth program.

“Loretto has been using telehealth for years, but this is a welcomed addition at a critical time for our residents and participants.” said Joelle Margrey, Vice President of Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation at Loretto. “Telehealth programs like MonitorMe™ allow our residents and PACE-CNY participants to have access to medical attention while staying indoors and staying safe.”

How it Works

Each participant receives a disposable MonitorMe™ patch. The patch collects health signs such as basic vital signs, heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar, temperature and more. The data is monitored 24/7 and sent to a team of medical staff at an off-site location. Participants can communicate with a clinician at any time, via audio or visual, through the MonitorMe™ app that comes with the patch.

Enrollment is now open, and the program accepts Medicare and Medicaid.

Committed to Innovative Technology

Loretto launched its first telehealth program, ImagineMIC™, at its Restorative Care Unit in 2018. Since then, Loretto has expanded the technology to include PACE-CNY participants in 2019 and residents at the Cunningham Skilled Nursing and the Fahey rehabilitation buildings on its main campus earlier this year.

Loretto is committed using innovative technology to improve the lives of all our participants and will continue to expand telehealth programs in the near future.
