SYRACUSE, NY (November 1, 2019) - Please find below the MOST's calendar of events for November 2019.

The MOST will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, throughout November except Tuesday, November 5 (Open), Monday, November 11 (open), and Thursday, November 28 (Closed). Offered Wednesdays through Sundays, domed IMAX films will be shown in the Bristol IMAX Omnitheater, MOST Science Educators will offer science demonstrations on different topics on weekends, and three planetarium shows will be offered on weekends. COST: Exhibit admission is free for MOST members. For nonmembers, exhibit admission is $12/adult, $10/child (ages 2-11) & $10/senior (ages 65+). Children under the age of 2 are free.

The MOST's newest traveling exhibit, BRAIN: The World Inside Your Head presented by Upstate Medical University, is a hit with families and kids of all ages! On display until middle-January, BRAIN: The World Inside Your Head takes visitors on a journey inside the head, providing a hands-on and up-close look at the human body's most essential and fascinating organ. Explore all facets of the brain, including its development, geography, and function. In the process, the exhibit makes brain-related disorders easier to understand!
COST: Free for members; included in paid exhibit admission for nonmembers.

Bank of America Museums On Us weekend takes place at the MOST during the first full weekend of every month. On Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3, present a Bank of America debit or credit card with valid photo ID for one FREE MOST exhibit admission. Free admission is limited to the cardholder. Girl Scout Badge Workshop - Programming Robots will begin on Saturday, November 16 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. While earning your badge, explore simple machines on the museum floor and then participate in creating your own simple machine. Use binary to help another scout color in a graph. Try out simple programming with a Mars rover activity and coding Bee Bots. Use your senses to figure out what snack is in the bag and you'll get to eat it too. Snack included in the workshop. Scout Badge Experiences are interactive museum experiences in engineering, robotics, and other STEM topics. Experiences include a series of hands-on workshops, planetarium shows, playhouse time, exhibit exploration, and snacks. CNY Bridges Build 'Em & Bust 'Em will be held at the MOST from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9. This annual student STEM competition provides students in grades 4 through 12 with the opportunity to test their hands-on abilities in engineering, teamwork, and design through the building of a balsa wood bridge (materials provided by the MOST).

November's Be the Scientist topic is Be the Animator! Presented by Summerwood Pediatrics, Be the Animator will be held on Saturday, November 30 from noon to 4:00 p.m. The Be the Scientist program enables visitors to learn, engage and explore the activities of a different type of scientist on the last Saturday of every month. Participants receive an Explorer Card to track progress through the program's three steps: Learn, Engage, Explore. Earn your Explorer Card punch each month and win a prize after 12 completed sessions! Most suitable for children ages 6 and up.

STEM Story Time is every Sunday morning starting at 10:30 a.m. The book for November will be Sneeze, Big Bear, Sneeze!, by Maureen Wright & Will Hillenbrand. STEM Story Time encourages a child's scientific spirit through stories, music, and hands-on, sensory play - all designed to inspire young children to begin discovering the world around them! Join other MOST families Sunday mornings at the MOST as we explore topics ranging from shapes and seasons to the moon and the stars - new stories rotate every month! STEM Story Time is for ages 2-6, parents welcome to join.
COST: Free for members; $5 per nonmember child

The Polar Express Pajama Parties begin Friday, November 29 at 5:00 p.m. Come dressed in holiday-themed pajamas and enjoy hands-on activities, hot chocolate and a visit with Santa from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a screening of The Polar Express starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Bristol IMAX Omnitheater. The film takes viewers on a journey through the perspective of a boy questioning his belief in Santa until he takes a train ride to the North Pole. Pajama Parties will also take place starting at 5 p.m. on November 29, November 30 (Sensory Friendly showing), December 6, December 7, December 13, and December 14.
COST: $14/person for MOST members and $15/person for nonmembers. Ticket cost includes The Polar Express Pajama Party and a ticket to see The Polar Express in IMAX. For more information, visit www.most.org or call 315.425.9068.

Sensory Friendly Time will be held on Saturday, November 30 and feature a Polar Express Pajama Party with sensory friendly activities starting at 5 p.m. Come dressed in holiday-themed pajamas and enjoy hands-on activities, hot chocolate and a visit with Santa from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a sensory friendly screening of The Polar Express starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Bristol IMAX Omnitheater. For the IMAX showing, film audio will be reduced from normal levels. The film takes viewers on a journey through the perspective of a boy questioning his belief in Santa until he takes a train ride to the North Pole. Quiet areas where participants can relax and regroup will be offered.
