The ARTSwego Performing Arts Series Presents: Makin' CakePosted on March 4, 2026 |
|
Slice into American history, culture, race, and class with Dasha Kelly Hamilton's Makin' Cake at SUNY Oswego on Wednesday, March 11th, at 7PM!
Filled with aha-moments and poignant vignettes, this show serves up an experience and a conversation about equity in America, exploring race, culture, and class in a refreshing and fun way. It is storytelling in layers. Part history lesson, part social science revelation, and featuring a cast of two on-stage bakers, Makin’ Cake is a short story about the nation’s sweet tooth and a pathway to salvation, leaving room for dessert and dialogue following the performance.
The evening will conclude with a Cake Reception featuring baked goods by JonJohn's Bakery, because no meaningful conversation should end without dessert.
This is a FREE, ticketed event, and it is open to the public. Use the link below to reserve your spot!
